Beginner Modern Calligraphy Workshop @ Austin Street Brewery - April 28, 2019

Date: April 28, 2019

Time: 10-12

Location: Austin Street Brewery - Fox Street

During this beginner workshop we will cover all the essentials in pointed-pen calligraphy. We will review the basics on how to hold the pen, discuss pressure and how it relates to ink flow, cover all the tools you will need to get started in modern calligraphy, and how to take care of your supplies. We will work through the alphabet together, and discuss what to look for when connecting letters. We will also cover different ways to make your calligraphy unique to you, how to push past common early mistakes, and tips and techniques that will help you fine tune your calligraphy work. If you are just starting out or are looking for a hands-on discussion to improve your calligraphic hand, this workshop is for you! The calligraphy workshops are kept at a smaller size in order to ensure that I am able to work more directly with you.

Each workshop includes:

1 Straight Pen Holder
2 Nibs: Zebra Comic G and Hunt56
1 Pot of Sumi black ink
Alphabet Guides
1 beer boucher
Vellum Paper and Practice Paper

Please be sure you can attend, as workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable 30 days prior to the start date of the workshop.

Note: There is a minimum requirement for the class to proceed. If we do not reach the minimum, we will unfortunately have to cancel the class, and you will receive a full refund or the option to register for a future class.
